Procedure Duration:
-
The duration of a tooth extraction procedure can vary based on the reason for the extraction and the number of teeth being removed. Some procedures may take as little as an hour, while others can extend up to two and a half hours.
Pain Level:
-
At Hometown Dental, we typically use local anesthesia to numb the area where the tooth will be extracted. For added comfort, we also offer laughing gas and oral sedation options.
-
To keep you comfortable during the procedure, we use anesthesia to numb the area. Recovery is a critical part of the process, and we prioritize ensuring proper healing. After the extraction, we’ll have you bite down on a gauze pad for 30–45 minutes to form a blood clot—it's important to avoid disturbing this clot for the next 24 hours.
To manage swelling, apply an ice pack to the outer cheek immediately after the procedure. Once swelling subsides, switch to a warm compress for added comfort. Gentle rinses with warm salt water will also help keep the area clean and promote healing.
We’re here to provide exceptional care and support, ensuring a quick and successful recovery.
